Volunteer mentor Dorothy Hogg (from left), 15, watches as Dalicia Jackson, 9, NiTu Sar, 10, and McKenzie Clark, 8, all of Cedar Rapids, take turns reading a book out loud during the Summer Reading Camp at Coe College in Cedar Rapids on Wednesday, August 1, 2012. Twenty students participated in the week long camp which is sponsored by Christ Episcopal Church. This is the seventh year of the camp and there is no fee for the students. The main goal of the camp is to teach students that reading is fundamental and can be fun. Organizers also want to give students the opportunity to see a college campus. The daily activities include reading time, word games, group games, swimming, and soccer.
